Hastelloy C-22 is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy that offers better overall corrosion resistance than other existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys like Hastelloy C-276, C-4 and Inconel 625 alloys. Hastelloy C-22 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to oxidizing water media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid or a mixture of oxidizing acids containing chloride ions. Meanwhile, Hastelloy C-22 alloy also has the ideal ability to resist the reducing and oxidizing environments encountered during the process. Relying on this versatile performance, it can be used in certain special environments, or in a variety of production purposes in the factory applications. Hastelloy C-22 alloy has a good resistance to various chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances, such as ferric chloride, copper chloride, chlorine, thermal pollution solution (organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater and salt solution, etc. The ability of Hastelloy C-22 alloy to resist grain boundary precipitation formation in the welding heat affected zone makes it suitable for a variety of chemical process applications in the welding state.Hastelloy C-22 alloy is suitable for a variety of chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media.The high content of molybdenum and chromium of Hastelloy C-22 makes the alloy be resistant to the corrosion of chloride ion, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-22 is one of the few materials that can resist the corrosion of moist chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solution. This alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentration of salt chloride solution (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).
