Hastelloy B-3 is similar with Hastelloy B-2 alloy and has better performance than Hastelloy B-2. The main advantage of Hastelloy B-3 alloy is it can retain excellent toughness when exposing to intermediate temperatures in a moment which usually occurs regularly during the heat treatment process of machining. When exposed to a temperature of 700℃, Hastelly B-2 alloy could be very prone to embrittlement and Hastelloy B-3 alloy can exhibit significant embrittlement resistance for several hours. This property greatly facilitates the fabrication of alloys into complex components such as molding devices. Hastelloy B-3 alloy is A new member of the nickel-molybdenum alloy series. It has excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid under any temperature and concentration. At the same time, Hastelloy B-3 alloy has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing medias.
Characteristics for Hastelloy B-3 Alloy:
1. Controlling the minimum contents of iron and chromium adn preventing the formation of β-phase Ni4Mo;
2, Excellent corrosion resistance under reducing environment;
3, Excellent resistance to medium concentration of sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acid corrosion;
4, Good resistance to chloride ion reduction stress corrosion cracking (SCC);
5, Excellent resistance to various organic acid corrosion ability.
Density for Hastelloy B-3 Alloy: 9.22g/cm³.
Hastelloy B-3 will be with annealing treatment, which is same with B-2.
