317&317L is an austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum. Its corrosion resistance is better than 304&304L and [TJC STAINLESS]316&316L.

The Performance Characteristics:
The corrosion resistance of 317 is similar to but superior to 316. The high molybdenum content ensures its overall and local corrosion resistance in most media, such as sulfuric acid, acid chlorine and phosphoric acid.317 is easily corroded in strong oxidizing acids such as nitric acid.
The performance of 317L is basically the same as that of 317.Due to lower carbon content, 317L has better welding [TJC STAINLESS]properties and intergranular corrosion resistance at high temperatures (427~816℃) than 317.
Applications:
317&317L is usually used in flue gas desulfurization system, chemical and petrochemical processing, food and beverage industry, petroleum refining, condenser of generator equipment, paper industry, etc.
